shaping urls and seo
Past few days I’ve read a few items regarding seo and things like how google handles different encoding’s of html entities. This got me thinking of what would be a preferable url for search engines…. small hrefs updates
in this week off im having i promised myself to not do any significant coding on projects, instead ive been tweaking wordings etc on hrefs (my url shortening service) to make it a bit more user friendly. I have a few more sites on the way as side projects so have added a sites section to this blog in preparation for those, will update images at a time when im feeling creative!
Music interests
So, new mac + garageband + my mixer = crude music mixing …. might record my own stuff (just audio) and post it for review …. then again i might not, im a shy person when it comes to my voice…
Reason for post is… i’m thinking of moving my music fom pc to mac and importing into itunes … maybe start buying more through itunes …. but cant help thinking maybe...

Well, had my two nights away from the screen, signal on my phone and all technology with the exception of the pool table in the pub. Several points of interest…
I suck at pool.
I burn Easily … 2 nights, 3 days, 20 minutes of sun and I’m red faced
I love sleeping in a tent when its raining - therapeutic
Also, loved time away from all things computer, but very eager to start...

title says it all, few reasons but im happy either way…. but now all of a sudden im sitting here thinking of re-writing my url handling class (longer story for another day).

Parallels
Spent today setting up my windows development environment …. on my imac. Got to admit it, coherance mode with windows xp virtual machine brings all the windows apps i need to my imac, one less machine needed on the desktop. I do have to wonder how easy it is to set up ubuntu in a similar fashion, bring cross platform development seemlessly onto one machine.

Just taking some time off from random bits to poke around the new tumblr interface, initial thoughts are good but then again ive only been here a minute…
uncluttering the mess
What? Just updated the tumblr template, removed a loat of fancy javascript bits, not really needed and slowed things down. Optimised the css to take up around 50% less space, reducing page size! Why? because I plan to get my internet life back to where it was a few months ago, re-do mattrandles.com to be a place to find a lot of my stuff, as well as this tumblr. Still not decided who what when...

Thats right, im on the imac, the beast, the beauty all rolled into one…
Now not to get carried away though; i dont think im going to be trying to get all my friends to convert as well. For most it just wouldnt suit what they do, I myself will still be using my windows machine just as much for asp.net and c# application development. However … im tempted to try windows xp on this either...
