I would get the link but googling this post’s title will find it ….
Well worth a look, spent an hour or so tonight sorting out my laptop, trying to find ways to minimize memory usage. The first step on this was to stop having so many tabs open on frifox - i usually have 15-20 contantly open. The quick fix here was to put constantly visited links onto one page and setting that as one of my constant tabs …. this is mostly lazyness but usually i want my information fast.
This left saved a lot of memory, firefox now hovers around 10mb instead of 250mb.
The second step to better memory usage was wanting to avoid loading lots of tabs in mozilla firefox again …. roll on PRISM …. essentially allows you to turn your favourite website into its own application, own memory space seperate from normal browser and literally just a web frame with no frills.
Dont get me wrong its still rough, the tray icon doesnt really do much on windows but for now … im chuffed to bits.
