Pogo browser….
Well, today I got my invite to try AT&T’s attempt at a browser called pogo. I see where they might have got this idea that the browser war is open, and their somewhat unique features have taken work and time.
But, and this is a big but, for an average web user - they are useless… my parents would be confused to high hell, some of my friends wouldnt do much better and even for me as a new user it threw a lot in the mix.
The reason I see it as a bad move….. think Vista, most developers I know still stick to Windows XP as a dev environment, then “fix” things for Vista …. the reason … too much change in too little time.
Another big reason I cant stick to it….. its firefox with addons and a new skin…. Flock i like, its gives something usefull todays web users need in a familiar way (to firefox users mainly but still.. i have a point)… but Pogo’s settings and all round experience seems like firefox with a wierd skin and features that just dont glue for me.
The complaints go on … oh cool on install i can hook up my delicious account ….. OR NOT … it instead imports the links … how about integrating the browser with open online services more….
Anyway … Pogo = ahhh bless they think they can make a browser to compete with the big boys …. hey, i might be wrong and my opinion isnt really worth sh*t … but i for one … will stick to what i allready have…
