new year, projects, gaps
So everyone’s already said Happy New Year, i’ll leave this sentence as equivalent. The past few months have been fair busy with various bits of side-project ideas and I’ve let some things slip.
Most of my side project idea’s end up being private applications for me, I may release a few this year if I clean them up and probably open source them, as I don’t really have the time to support them.
Href’s was a site I had running for short urls, unfortunately it got busy one day, spiked on the server and my host took it down preemptive incase it was being abused. Turns out it wasn’t after checking the logs but I let the site die, it was a weekend project and i didn’t care much for it.
This left me reviewing hosting options, I’ve since decided to move when i next promote one of my side projects.
Slypoll is one such side project, the initial alpha is live and anyone can use it over at slypoll.com. It’s a very simple poll site to get quick answers. This is my next project I’m aiming to complete, the second phase design is done, and its niiice compared to the quick mash up at the moment. I’ve also started re-coding a more secure base to work from in the hope I might expand it if it becomes useful to a few people.
I also have another project which begins next monday, I’d rather keep that quiet and separate from this tho, as its non geek non music related what so ever.
